Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews, negotiates, and amends standard contract documentation as required, often adding, or changing clauses according to the specifications of stakeholders
- Drafts appropriate contractual and commercial terms and conditions to best serve and protect Company’s interests
- Review and assess tender document to identify the crucial issues on commercial, contractual, and relevant technical aspects need to be further resolved before and after tender submission
- Perform all clarifications for contracts meeting and coordinating with the project department and smooth functioning of the project
- Assist the departments and evaluating various commercial and technical evaluations
- Keep record, includes drawings, field notes, sketches, reference manuals and any other engineering materials and making sure that they are noted in the contract, and that all information is dictated
- Execute Contracts. During the development process, letters must be drafted and signed by various people including clients, subcontractors, project managers and governmental overseers in timely manner
- Handle Issues with Contracts. During each stage of development, problems with contracts can arise, and he must be able to resolve them such as claims and dispute:
- Collate related information and provide analysis based on facts, records, and the contract.
- Prepare, brief, and advise strategies claim resolution, defenses, and counter-claims.
- Prepare well-written reports and recommendations related to claims and disputes.
- Provides general assistance and advice on contractual and procurement matters as required to support Company’s and/or project’s operations.
- Work closely with the Consortium Partner’s Contracts and Legal Team to ensure that exposure to Client is correctly diagnosed, accurately reported and where appropriate, effectively mitigated.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- LLB in related subject or equivalent (Common Law background preferred)
- At least six years contract and claim management experience in Petrochemical or Oil & Gas project
- Fluency in English language both written and spoken
- Presentation, leadership & communication skills
- Experience in international contracting mechanisms under different jurisdictions
- Experience with Chinese companies is preferred
