Job Summary:  The purpose of the Quality Assurance Trainee Programme is to ensure that the future leadership requirements within the Quality Assurance environment of the organisation are met.  After completing the programme within 18 months and being checked out the trainee will have the required technical and management skills as well as process knowledge to be appointed into a leadership position within ABInbev.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in projects development in the Brewery environment aligned to the Quality department traineeship program requirements
  • Assess the quality of specifications and technical design documents in order to ensure timely, relevant and meaningful feedback.
  • Participate in systemic and situational process and product quality problems solving sessions
  • Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of incoming and outgoing product to confirm quality conformance to specifications and quality deliverables
  • Assist with routine and ad hoc inspections of brewery raw materials such as packaging materials, brewing ingredients, and CIP chemicals.
  • Undertake services within the Quality and Food Safety environment which may include (but not limited to)
  • Undertake key documentation control duties
  • Document quality assurance activities with internal reporting and audits
  • Participating in Validation of Critical Control Points (Monitor risk-management procedures, and maintain and analyze problem logs to identify and report recurring issues to management and product development)
  • Support the team in project administration e.g. process product sample tracking and analyses
  • Participate in the team structures including acting roles in identified positions, i.e. within Quality department
  • Performs a wide variety of Critical to Quality equipment basic maintenance/service and calibration
  • Planning and implementing strategies for quality management and testing of process and final product samples
  • Carefully maintain complaint and nonconformance processing through records and tracking systems, including root cause and corrective actions
  • Identify training needs and take action to ensure company-wide compliance
  • Analyze and investigate product complaints or reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company guidelines and external regulatory requirements

 



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Science degree (preferably BSC in Food Science, Food Processing Technology, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering)
  • Optional additional certification, such as Microbiology, Quality monitoring Instrumentation, or Quality Auditing.
  • Computer competence, including database management
  • Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices in laboratory environments
  • Willingness to learn and be self-motivated
  • Willingness to be part of a team ethic
  • Ability to produce a consistently high standard of work
  • Assertive and analytical
  • Proactive
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Good understanding of the principles and practices of Food safety and Quality
