Job Summary: As Investment Analyst you are supporting the Investment Principal for the product and portfolio management, using Uncap’s technical platform and behavioral science approach. You will make data-driven decisions to tailor and adapt our investment product, audit the tech-based selection process, and inform the ongoing development of the portfolio management tool. We are looking for someone who can grow into a more senior role, and further strengthen the investment team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Improve and execute on a highly automated digital process to efficiently scale the sourcing and selection of investment opportunities.
- Pipeline Management – follow-up support to potential investment targets through multiple mediums (emails, calls, 3 party service providers).
- Support the investment due diligence analysis and shortlisting process.
- Work closely with the Investment Principal, Product Lead & Marketing Lead to improve internal processes and customer experience and satisfaction
- Collaborate with data scientist to analyze data to identify key trends and success criteria
- Coordinate, track, and help implement offerings on our value-add platform to our investees
- Support in all fields of portfolio management including tracking of key metrics and reporting
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- 2-3 years experience in a venture fund, management consulting firm or within a rapidly growing startup. Financial modelling & analytics acumen
- Good understanding of financial modelling and accounting
- Hands-on self-starter who can take on and manage projects, as well as small teams, independently
- Comfortable with remote working and great communication skills
- Passionate about our mission and aligned with our values
- Extensive local experience in sub-Saharan Africa
