Job Title: Credit Officer – Asset Loans

GENPROF microfinance is looking for highly motivated and competent individuals to fill the position of Credit Officer.
Job Summary: The Credit officer ensures that clients who take loans to finance the purchase of assets e.g. motorcycle are compliant to the repayment schedule and other terms and undertakes measures to ensure that such loans are performing at all times.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Laisse with the Branch Managers to process loans for the clients who wish to take asset financing loans.
- Explain loan agreement to clients clearly before they sign it
- Make follow up phone calls to clients whose installments were missed to clear in time to avoid penalties
- Perform credit worthy assessments and background checks of clients who wish to undertake asset financing loans
- Locate defaulting clients and repossess assets and make decisions in consultation with the manager to renegotiate with clients to pay the remaining amount or sale the asset to recover the remaining balances.
- Support the sales executive to generate, follow and convert all the bike sales enquiries made through walk in or Financing leads to sales
- Participate in the marketing of the motorcycle financing loan product in the field.
- Write weekly reports and submit to the line manager
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of a diploma in any field with at least 2 years’ experience in sales or credit in the same or related filed.
- Must be between the age of 23-37 years.
- Good command of both spoken and written English. Fluency in Lusoga or Luganda is an added advantage.
- Demonstrable track record of high integrity, reliability, and dependable.
- Networking and influencing skills.
- Leadership skills
- Excellent skills in excel and Microsoft word
- Good customer care
- Good communication skills
- Teamwork
