Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and implement best practices in contract, procurement, commercial and vendor management for major oil and gas project.
- Partner with business and functional leadership to understand short, medium and long-term third party requirements.
- Assess and assist in the mitigation of vendor risk
- Ensure appropriate contract structures / types, pricing models, vendor incentive models, service level agreements, performance indicators and cost models are applied consistently across vendors
- To advise on contract interpretation including analysing the entitlement of variations and change orders.
- To assist the contractor project team in all aspects of contractual management of the project, including attending internal meetings, participating in negotiations regarding claims between contractor and the Owner or with subcontractors and suppliers.
- To assist in ensuring that contractual notices are issued in accordance with conditions of contract
- To identify, assess and minimize the risk of disputes between contractor and any other parties including the Owner.
- To assist in managing the overall contract program and covering all work to be carried out by subcontractors.
- To utilize the program to identify and manage claims for delay and disruption to contractor’s works and to defend contractor against similar claims from the Owner and subcontractors, selecting the most effective form of program analysis on a case by case basis.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Degree in Quantity Surveying, Contract Laws, Engineering or equivalent
- He or She must be registered engineer and a member in a good standing or hold a license or temporary permit from the relevant authorising bodies.
- Minimum 20 years’ experience in related fields specifically infrastructure projects
- Relevant experience on EPC projects and has worked on FIDIC contracts
- Strong experience in managing and administrating construction contracts.
- Extensive knowledge of contractual terms & conditions and commercial contract law; experience in dispute and claims resolution experience is an added advantage.
- Takes ownership of deliverables with the ability to work independently or as part of a wider group.
- Team player with excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiation, influence and persuade others
