Job Title: Senior Accounts Assistant

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

 

About US:

Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) is a Statutory Body established by UNMA Act, 2012. The Act empowers UNMA to provide for the control and development of technically sound and scientific meteorological services in Uganda.

 

Job Summary:  To perform basic accounting processes involving preparing books of accounts and keeping custody of accounting transaction records.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keep accountability records and documents;
  • Draft monthly reconciliation reports and process deferred tax payments and returns while keeping records thereof;
  • Post financial transactions, cash books and subsidiary ledgers to general ledger and updating books of accounts;
  • Prepare pay change report forms and reconcile payroll transaction reports;
  • Enter transaction into commitment control register;
  • Provide custody of cash and imprest and effect payments; and
  • Prepare draft monthly reconciliation reports;
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Diploma in Accounting or financial management or Business Studies or Business Administration from recognized institution awarded by a recognized institution
  • At least three (3) years working experience in related work in Government or reputable organization.
