Job Title: Communications Volunteer (Fresher Job Opportunities)

About US:
Riamiriam civil society network- Karamoja is non governmental organization which was established in 2003. The Organization is registered with national NGO board with the registration number (S. 5914/5127).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Communications officer will support Riamiriam’s-wide programs and initiatives.
- Responsible for internal and external communications including media relations and events support.
- Determines content topics, coordinates with others to obtain information, writes, edits, designs and sends to donors, and community and business contacts in liaison with Executive Director and Programs Manager
- Prepares the production of press releases, announcements, brochures, event materials, photographs, newsletters, etc.
- The Communication officer will also play a key role in supporting Riamiriam member organizations in strengthening their communications efforts.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication or related field or equivalent education/experience;
- At least one year demonstrated experience in supporting broad-based and successful communication programs; Superb writing and analytical skills as well as excellent verbal communication in English;
- Ability to work and train civil society organizations;
- Extensive knowledge of social media and emerging communication platforms;
- Thorough knowledge of media operations;
- Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Experience in graphic design or related field;
- Proficiency with basic computer programs such as Power Point, Excel and Word;
- Interpersonal and time-management skills;
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
