Traditionally overlooked and underserved micro and small businesses (MSBs) in emerging markets deserve to have great tech built to serve their needs. Numida is the first and largest mobile platform in East Africa focused on offering convenient, accessible, and appropriate financial services specifically to MSBs. The Role:
We are looking for a self-driven, results-oriented Associate in our Finance department.
Job Summary: The Finance team at Numida is an expanding, global function responsible for planning, accounting, controlling and, ultimately, enabling our fast-paced and high-growth business. From the moment you join us, you’ll have significant responsibility and receive training and professional development opportunities to help you excel in your role and beyond.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter all the company’s financial transactions into the accounting systems (Quickbooks online among others as may be required);
- Reconcile all entries into the accounting system and produce the relevant reconciliation reports for cash and cash equivalents;
- Assist with filing and maintaining accurate and complete physical and online financial records like receipts, contracts, agreements, supplier invoices among others;
- Maintenance of the fixed assets register;
- Staff airtime disbursements;
- Staff travel disbursements and reconciliation of staff accounts;
- Conduct any other additional tasks as required to support the Finance function.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with at least an Upper Second-class honors
- A minimum of 15 points at ‘A’ Level or equivalent and a first Grade in ‘O’ Level (with at least credit 3 in English and Mathematics) or equivalent;
- Certified Public Accountants (CPA) or Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) part qualification, is an added advantage;
- Have a strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Be able to consult and positively engage with a wide variety of people/personalities to professionally deliver on requirements;
- Have a keen eye for detail and diligent approach to work;
- Be self-motivated, analytical, good with figures, organized and able to manage a busy workload with conflicting priorities;
- Have a proactive approach, with a focus on the right solution, professionalism and value;
- Able to provide a hands-on, flexible approach, willing to respond professionally, enthusiastically and positively;
- Digital minded and Calm under pressure.
