Job Title: Senior Officer, Regional Offices
Organisation: Uganda Communications Commission (UCC)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Division Head Regional Offices
About US:
The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) was established to implement the provisions of The UCC Act 2013 Laws of Uganda with a principal goal of developing a modern communications sub-sector and Infrastructure in Uganda, in conformity with the operationalization of the Telecommunications Policy.
Job Summary: To manage and monitor regional office activities liaising with the Head Office, local public in accordance with management objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To schedule, plan, organize, lead and coordinate operational duties and communication duties in the region, including staff supervision and safe guarding all UCC assets in the regions
- To handle technical complaints (Radio frequency interference, illegal operations, poor quality of service etc.) in accordance with set procedures.
- To collect and compile data for technical planning purposes and prosecution of illegal operations
- To carry out all technical inspections (Telecom, Broadcasting, Content Monitoring, Postal,) in tandem with UCC’s functions for compliance with the set standards and requirements.;
- To provide timely operational reports to HQ as required.
- To prepare and present regional budgetary needs every financial year to the Regional Head.
- To execute administrative, public relations and corporate duties of the Regional Office.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Masters’ Degree in Business Administration or related field; and
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
- Four (4) years’ related experience in a similar corporate setting
