Job Summary: The Assembly Operator produces ready-to-sell solar products for EEA-Uganda’s customers. He or she assembles raw materials and component into high-quality finished products. The position holder is responsible for meeting individual production targets set by the Production Team Lead and is a key contributor to the quality targets set for the entire Production Team. The Assembly Operator cooperates with the Quality Management team to support the monitoring of product quality. He or she raises any safety or quality concern with the Production Team Leader.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble products parts and components according to each product’s bill of material
- by following the kitting instructions
- Keep accurate records of production output
- Protective Equipment (PPE) and the handling of hazardous material
- Ensure that equipment and tools are functional and kept safe and report faulty or missing
- tools and equipment.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including but not limited to wearing Personal
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work station
- Move stock around the warehouse either by hand or using lifting equipment
- Support other warehouse activities when required including, but not limited to the receipt of shipments, loading, and staging of items for distribution, extracting spare parts, e-waste processing, assembly of sellable items, and stock count.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must have at least a High School Certificate
- Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Excellent Team Player
- Good ability to his / her time
- Professional demeanor and excellent work ethics
- Prior experience with assembly or production is an advantage
- Ability to implement processes designed by the Company
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Must be able to lift up to 20 kilograms, sit or stand for up to 10 hours a day, and be
- able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- English fluency (writing, speaking and reading)
