Job Summary: The Network Administrator will provide technical guidance and management of World Vision Uganda’s ICT Network/Telecoms environment for efficient business operations that impact the achievement of World Vision Uganda’s child well-being aspirations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Deployment and Management of IT Infrastructure
- Deploy & Maintain connectivity hardware and software components or services.
- Implements and Manage security infrastructure (including firewalls Content Filter policy) on the enterprise networks and user endpoints.
- Assess network-related risks and advise the management on available options.
Vendor Management:
Contract Management:
- Manage vendor performance in line with agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Troubleshooting vendor-related incidents.
- Demand management
- Process vendor payments
- Develop Terms of References (ToRs) and Evaluate vendor solutions to ensure compliance with requirements.
Telecom Systems Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to identify future bandwidth capacity and technology needs.
- Design and operationalize the connectivity disaster recovery plan.
Customer Support:
- Provide end-user support for connectivity or related network/ communication issues.
- Document, train, and guide on connectivity-related services.
- Coaching and Mentoring ICT staff
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the World Vision Network Administrator job must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical and Telecommunications Engineer, or other related specialized training.
- Technical certification in Networks, E.g., CCNA, or equivalent experience.
- Five years of experience in Network Administration.
- Comprehensive understanding of networking technologies and related infrastructure.
- Excellent Analytical Skills and troubleshooting skills for solving problems.
- Demonstrates eagerness and aptitude for acquiring necessary technical knowledge, skills, and judgment to accomplish a result.
- Effective in written and verbal communication in English
