Job Summary: The Network Team Leader advises on planning, design and implementation, and controls the installation and maintenance of network infrastructure, contributing towards ensuring that the capacity, reliability and availability of IT network services meet the requirements of the organization. He/she leads the Network Team and is responsible for providing technical leadership and resource management for IT network services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Accountable for Manager Infrastructure Distribution in GTO. This encompasses:
- Planning: support the Manager Infrastructure in preparing and implementing annual work and resource plans; assess their applicability within the overall ICT strategy; recognize and actively seek ways to exploit IT to address complex business, organizational and technical issues.
- Team Leadership: provide own team with a clear direction; delegate work and motivate staff.
- Security Management: provide expert network security knowledge; participate in proposing and developing security solutions; implement appropriate procedural and technical access control mechanisms; participate in security incident management, security assessments, and vulnerability testing and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Service Management: take overall responsibility for ensuring the availability, performance and security of network services within agreed service levels; lead the development of procedures and standards for IAEA-wide IT network infrastructure operations.
- Project Management: plan, monitor and control projects
- Problem Solving: investigate and resolve problems for services within his/her own area of responsibility; delegate to team members as appropriate, following ITIL processes; manage major network-related incidents and bring them to a satisfactory closure.
- Deployment and operation of the network environment including capacity management, and disaster recovery function.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a University (or equivalent) degree in computer science, engineering or a related field
- At least three years of professional experience as a LAN/WAN engineer in a large and complex IT enterprise environment (50+ servers). These should include 2 years of hands-on configuration, administration and troubleshooting experience of LAN switches, routers and firewall devices.
- Experience in CISCO products
- Experience in LAN traffic and WAN bandwidth monitoring tools.
- Experience with the application and integration of QoS, encryption and compression over WAN links.
