Job Title:   Senior Surveyor

Organisation: Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL)

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

Uganda Electricity Transmission Company limited (UETCL) is responsible for bulk purchase of electricity from the generating companies and selling it in bulk to the distribution companies throughout Uganda. UETCL is also responsible for exports and imports of electricity to Uganda. Job Summary:  The Senior Surveyor will plan and implement acquisition and processing of survey data

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the acquisition and processing of survey data of proposed transmission routes and or Substations.
  • Carry out setting out operations, Guide, Monitor and Evaluate Survey operations for the preparation of Strip maps for resettlement Action Plans, and land acquisitions
  • Prepare program implementation plans for the section.
  • Control section resources.
  • Appraise and supervise training of subordinate staff.
  • Keep and maintain records.
  • Check contractor’s work in the field of surveying.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor in Surveying
  • A master’s degree in surveying and Geographical Information Systems would be an added advantage
  • Must be a registered or registrable (Surveyors Registration Board)
  • At least seven to ten years of experience in power systems survey
  • Good supervisory and interpersonal skills
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have good analytical and communication skills
  • Can demonstrate a background of personal and strategic leadership.
  • A person of high integrity, must be highly motivated, innovative and a committed team player.
