Job Title:   Scrum Master (Fresher Jobs)

Job Summary:   The Scrum Master will work closely with product & developments teams to ensure they follow Agile practices and Scrum framework values, with the aim of improving the teams’ efficiency

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Accountability:  (70%)

  • Create workflow diagrams for more complex interactions
  • Hold daily standup meetings with the development team
  • Feedback to the Manager of Development to ensure things are unblocked and not held up
  • Work with the development team to expand user stories or break them down and estimate on timing
  • Ensure completion of all tasks within specified time – track and report on overdue items
  • Regularly monitor and control the metrics to meet project/product goals. (E.g. sprint/ release burn down, velocity, defects, etc.)
  • Ensure implementation of features and/or bug-fixing and delivering solutions in accordance with coding guidelines and on-time with high quality.

Relationship building (10%)

  • Working with Product Owners to understand our product offerings
  • Understand the Product Owners’ backlog of new development items and work with the product owners to evolve and improve the user stories as necessary, ensuring that they have the minimum required standards set out in our user story guidelines

Training (10%)

  • Identify the training programs for the team members.
  • Coach and mentor team members to develop agile capabilities self organization etc.
  • Guide development of technical artifacts that can be used for future reference.

Risk (5%)

  • Ensure that sprint deliverables are adhering to the Quality and regulatory guidelines.
  • Identify and control project risks by means of prevention, mitigation, and conting




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the ABSA Bank Scrum Master job must hold relevant qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Information Technology
