Job Title: Internal Auditor

Yako Bank (U) Limited was incorporated in the Republic of Uganda in 2010 and licensed as a Credit Institution by Bank of Uganda in 2020. In September 2015, Yako got its license to operate as a deposit taking institution and started operations under the name Yako Microfinance (U) Limited. It upgraded to a Credit Institution in 2020 and was licensed to operate as Yako Bank (U) Limited. Yako Bank is owned by different shareholders and has been licensed by Bank of Uganda to provide savings and lending products to different clients.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate audit charter, Internal Audit annual work plans, Internal Audit policies, and procedure manuals.
- Managing and coordinating the Yako Bank Audit Function and ensuring there is effective communication between the Audit and all other stakeholders.
- Preparing and submitting Internal Audit reports to Board and management.
- In charge of evaluating and reviewing the Financial, Accounting, and Operational performance of the institution and all the departments, functions, and advice on improvements
- Carrying out special Audit assignments.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance, or related field.
- CPA certified
- Proven working experience as Internal Auditor/ Audit manager
- Proven knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, laws, rules, regulations and best practices.
- Proven knowledge of financial sector regulations and industry trends
- High attention to detail, excellent analytical and planning skills, and sound independent judgment
- Knowledge of Accounting, various core banking, HR, and Payroll applications
- Previous experience working in the banking sector.
