Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform adequate planning and effective execution of audit assignments arising from the annual audit plan and respective monthly audit schedules as assigned by the supervisor Timely execution and submission of audit reports to the respective engagement supervisors.
- Develop and discuss audit findings with process owners for constructive action points, root causes and timely resolution of audit issues.
- Prepare internal audit reports identifying proper risks root causes and recommendations that improve processes, commercial performance safeguarding against financial and operational loss
- Follow up the recommendations implementation concerning the reviewed sections during audits in accordance with the stipulated timelines
- Document, evaluate and test system and controls to determine the adequacy and effectiveness, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, reliability and Integrity of information and safeguarding of assets.
- Preserve various documentations for audit work such as working papers, audit programs and supporting Evidence for future reference.
- Review the weekly/monthly returns prepared by the finance department before submission to the bank of Uganda
- Carrying out any other audit assignments like special investigations, annual inventory and cash counts among others, as instructed by the line supervisors from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance Accounting or Auditing
- Qualification with a professional accounting body as ACCA or CPA will be added advantage
- Analytical and audit planning skills
- Good computer and report writing skills
- Result oriented, and with ability to multitask
- Good interpersonal skills
- Communications skills (verbal oral and written)
- Unquestionable integrity, among others
