Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Business Development Officer – Broking, Bids & Tenders (Uganda GI) will manage the strategic and operational activities in alternative business channels to enable the company to achieve its corporate goals of growth, profitability and customer services.
- To respond to quotation requests, and work with underwriting, attend to brokers service issues in GI business development and develop prospects into new business in line with the Company’s Policies.
- To manage the smooth operation of Request for Tenders and ‘Request for Proposals’ issued by purchasing authorities hence providing complete and appropriate solutions/results in line with the companies operating manuals.
- To offer sales advice on potential products and services for the company on time.
- Issue quotations and determine acceptability of risks, monitor and review terms of accounts assigned.
- To prepare tenders and bids for both new and renewal business for General business in broking team.
- To develop and maintain a robust pipeline for both new and renewal business and ensure to follow up to win.
- Monitor service standards within the department to ensure high quality customer service is delivered.
- Assist the Business Development Manager to execute the GI business Development strategic initiatives.
- Represent UAPOM in business development meetings with prospective clients/ brokers.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelors Degree (B): Actuarial Science, Bachelors Degree (B): Business Administration/Management
