Job Summary: The Assistant Network Administrator will demonstrate baseline working knowledge of routine work applications; follow standard principles and use appropriate terminology associated with infrastructure networks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the Installation, configuration and maintenance of switching, routing equipment and other network devices.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of computer stations, wireless and wired networks.
- Monitor networking equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide network support to users.
- Troubleshoot network faults to resolution.
- Performs routine updates to network equipment as through timely monitoring of IT equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.
- Document all issues diagnosed and resolved for proper recording keeping and future reference.
- Generate monthly status reports on network equipment.
- Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the Network Administrator or superiors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least two (2) years working experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrate practical IT skills in areas like Windows Server Operating Systems and Linux Server Operating Systems.
- Professional qualifications in networking are an added advantage.
- Must be willing to be called upon to serve during non-conventional working hours.
- Must be a committed Christian.
