Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and controlling all accounting functions and ensuring all expenses are fully and properly accounted for, in accordance with company procedures and guidelines.
- Providing operating divisions with suitable guidelines on raising accounting documents and facilitating expectations settlement of insurance claims.
- Provide monthly and quarterly management accounts – profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Timely posting of monthly journals, importation of production data, the accuracy of the ledger, and reconciliation of the sub-ledgers to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
- Providing data required for budgetary planning and preparation of budgetary schedules.
- Interact with external and internal auditors to produce financial statements and tax returns and attend to audit queries.
- Ensure accurate computation and payment of corporation tax and submission of the necessary statutory returns
- Maintain fixed asset schedule and implement effective inventory control mechanisms.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- He / she must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance from a reputable university,
- Professional qualification(s) in insurance e.g. ACCA, CPA (U) is a must,
- Membership in the Institute of Internal Auditors will be added advantage,
- Three years of experience in an accounting role, managing a chart of accounts, and must also demonstrate knowledge of applicable tax laws and regulations,
- Experience in the insurance industry and knowledge of the Navision system will be added advantage.
- Must be self-driven and willing to take up new tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
