Job Summary: The Senior Analyst  -Business Intelligence will be mainly responsible for combining knowledge of analytics, modelling and AI with a good understanding of the business to identify opportunities to improve the way we work and to implement these to improve the customer journey. But also monitor company performance and business environment while interpreting data concerning customers, channels, competition, and the macro-environment into relevant, accurate and usable strategic knowledge.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive development of predictive & Propensity models leveraging existing information assets for optimal Marketing activity.
  • Implementing Artificial Intelligence, including Machine Learning tools, to create solutions and to support business decisions.
  • Supporting business teams by creating low-touch solutions to provide optimal ROI from data science
  • Driving the exploration of data sources and analytic techniques to create new modelling approaches
  • Working with senior stakeholders to understand their pain-points and identify data-led solutions to resolve these
  • Developing models to solve complex business issues, using multi-source data and strong descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics skills
  • Create and build custom, re-usable data visualizations and dashboards based on statistical and mathematical modeling and data analysis that will be used to solve a variety of problems related to business problems
  • Performs Product Evaluation: Involves development of business cases for new initiatives and products/services; effective and efficient product performance monitoring and reporting for MTN Uganda.
  • Prepares Pricing for products and services ensuring economic feasibility and profitability Prepares financial analysis and modelling for promotions and price reductions to aid decision making
  • Implementing best practices to ensure dashboard design consistency for the best user experience.
  • Carry out all regular and ad hoc data analytics activities to enable business to obtain better insights
  • Carry out insightful analytics around customer segment movements, product lifecycle, usage and revenue




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science
  • At least three years’ experience in data science, machine learning & advanced data analytics
  • At least two years’ experience in dashboard design and development using PowerBI
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Proficiency in Data Science & ML development and deployment
  • Knowledge in PowerBI
  • Experience with data visualization libraries using Python or R
  • Previous experience in Telecommunication
  • High level of discretion and Integrity.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
  • Team player.
