Job Summary: The Safeguarding Coordinator will coordinate and support implementation of World Vision’s Child and Adult Safeguarding policy, including updating and operationalizing safeguarding requirements and procedures within the organization and among its partners/affiliates.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support implementation of the Child and Adult Safeguarding policy within World Vision – Uganda and its affiliates/partners
- Update and operationalize safeguarding requirements and procedures
- Provide ongoing capacity building and awareness raising on safeguarding issues among staff and affiliates
- Liaise and coordinate Safeguarding Committee meetings internally and with the region and Global Centre
- Document proceedings of safeguarding meetings and follow-up actions as agreed in the meetings
- Manage and update safeguarding cases in Ethics Point
- Provide advice for case management of specific safeguarding incidents as required.
- Coordinate teams for input into the Annual Safeguarding Report, synthesize and submit the report to the region and Global Centre.
- Routine monitoring and tracking for compliance with the Child and Adult Safeguarding Policy
- Prepare and present periodic safeguarding status reports to the Senior Leadership Team and Board of World Vision – Uganda.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant for the World Vision Safeguarding Coordinator job must hold a university degree in law, social work or other relevant field. Requirement.
- Technical skills: Academic and/or direct programming experience/expertise in safeguarding, PSEA or child protection.
- At least five years of experience in a safeguarding, PSEA or child protection focused role.
- Experience in working for a large NGO or other large organization
- Experience in working with gender-based violence is an advantage.
- A high level of integrity and confidentiality is required.
- Experience of working in the field (communities)
