Job Title: Procurement Manager
Organization: Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Director Finance and Administration.
About US:
The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) was established under the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act of 2005 to provide for a successor corporate body to Radio Uganda and Uganda Television. It is mandated to provide national radio and television services. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda.
Job Summary: To plan, coordinate, manage and implement the procurement and disposal function of the corporation to ensure value for money.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for the corporation services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
- Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company.
- Identifies and researches potential new suppliers.
- Liaises with key corporation employees to determine their product and service needs.
- Researches new products and services to meet company’s goals
- Assesses total costs of company purchases.
- Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in either procurement or Supply Chain Management from a recognized institution. OR An Honor’s Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce; or Business Administration; or Economics plus full professional qualification in Procurement/Purchasing and Supply Chain Management such as CIPS, ISM, CILT from a recognized Institution; OR Full
- Professional qualification/membership of procurement/Purchasing and Supply Chain Management such as CIPS, ISM and CILT from a recognized Institution Applicants in any of the categories above should have a Masters Degree in either Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or Management discipline obtained from a recognized Institution/Body.
- At least five years’ experience, 3 of which MUST be at Senior level.
