Job Summary:  The Pharmaceutical Logistics Technical Officer will assist the KCCA health team in management of COVID19 and routine immunization pharmaceutical logistics, including related data and information systems.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the KCCA supply chains and medicines stores teams in the planning, management and monitoring outgoing and inbound deliveries of COVID-19 vaccine and related commodities to KCCA’s and Division Vaccine stores and sites; and collecting and managing data on stocks available at these sites.
  • Assist the KCCA team in supervision of storage, transportation, and use of vaccine roll out commodities.
  • This also involves monitoring and ensuring the vaccines are properly handled, the consumables are enough and accounted for both at the central store and the division.
  • Respond adequately to queries, questions and follow up on orders made by Divisions teams, ensuring the link between KCCA and its Division stores is active and functional.
  • Closely work with KCCA central and Division stores teams, adequately plan for logistics availability during campaigns and vaccination drives, including assisting with daily communication on stock status of COVID-19 and routine immunization vaccines and related commodities





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field, or a Diploma in Pharmacy
  • At least two years of experience in a Public health implementation program or a in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of medicines logistics and inventory information management systems
  • Solid understanding of Logistics and inventory management software used by Uganda’s Ministry of Health.
  • Demonstrate good analytical and presentation skills with Microsoft office packages
  • Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders towards achievement of common goals
