Job Summary:  The Occupational Therapist will deliver high-quality and efficient occupational therapy services to Watoto children and adults with medical rehabilitation needs.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide evidence based occupational therapy services to Watoto clients, from initial assessment to the preparation of treatment and its implementation.
  • To develop occupational therapy practices for clients and staff in conjunction with other leaders.
  • To provide both physical and psychological interventions to all clients with rehabilitation concerns.
  • To develop an occupational health and safety measures to improve a clients and staffs safety, promote productivity and help prevent workplace related injuries.
  • To support in the empowerment of children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities to ensure effective preparation for school, work.
  • To ensure that all the Occupational Therapy equipment’s are maintained in a good working condition and effectively keep an inventory of the equipment.
  • To train Baby Watoto nannies on how to effectively handle and feed the children and to sensitise the children, mothers and staff on day today’s life occupations.
  • To train teachers and caregivers to provide the best environment and support for children with special needs to enable them grow, learn and develop into future transformational leaders.
  • To collaborate with the educational department in the formulation and implementation of Individualized Educational programs (IEP) for children with learning challenges.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant should hold at least a Diploma in Occupational therapy.
  • At least two years of working experience in medical rehabilitation both physical & psychological therapies and mental health.
  • Should be a team player, result oriented, self-motivated and able to work under minimum supervision
