TPO Uganda is a local Ugandan NGO that has been operating in the country for 27 years. Our programs comprise interventions organised around the following themes: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Care and protection of OVC; child protection, livelihoods support, response and prevention of all forms of violence against women and children as well as emergency response and humanitarian action. TPO Uganda is active in over 45 districts in the region and is a member of several partnerships and coordination mechanisms in the country.
Job Summary: The Logistics Assistant will provide assistance to the Finance & Administration Officer in relation to procurement, administrative and logistical roles. The Procurement & Operations Manager will offer technical guidance when the need arises.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Procurement & Assets Management
- Assist the FAO in the transport function in liaison with field offices in a way that leads to the effective and efficient vehicle usage and other logistical functions.
- Working with the FAO to carry out the procurement function of the organisation in accordance with procurement policy. This will include; requesting for quotations, participate in bid evaluation together with the evaluation committee, preparing LPOs and communicate with te suppliers, inspect the delivered good to ensure that they are of required quality and quantity, prepare payment requisition forms and ensure proper documentation us attached. Also follow up invoices.
- Assist the FAO with asset management
- Assist the FAO to prepare periodical procurement reports including all transactions carried out.
- Assist the FAO to coordinate and monitor the disposal of organisational assets.
- Assist the FAO with stores management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Degree in Procurement, Logistics, BBA or its equivalent from a recognized institution
- One year of relevant experience with an NGO.
