Job Summary: The Corporate Finance Analyst mainly involves maintaining the Company General Ledger in line with internal controls, statutory and accounting guidelines and to use it (plus other agreed assumptions) to provide timely and accurate financial information and services that enable the various departments to make informed decisions and make efficient and effective plans to meet Company objectives. Also, they have to ensure that the Company complies with local statutory taxes (PAYE, NSSF, VAT, Excise, Withholding tax and Corporation tax) and provides operational support for the resolution of reporting and tax issues.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying and recording accounts payable data.
- Ensure through effective procedures and controls that the general ledger is accurate (balance sheet & P&L).
- Accurate, bottom-up monthly forecasts (Statement of comprehensive income, Statement of financial position, Operating cash flows) including cash forecast accuracy improvements.
- Timely and accurate bottom-up input for functional accounting and budget holder processes.
- Ensure monthly cut off procedures are in line with BAT requirements.
- Provide all assistance required to external and internal auditors during audits.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory tax obligations.
- Develop and maintain liaison with other finance team members and employees for smooth completion of financial accounts.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Accounting-related degree.
- Professional accounting qualification e.g. ACCA, CPA, etc.
- At least three years of accounting experience.
- Successfully plan activities and action for results.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office programmes.
- Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to details.
