Job Title:  Assistant Election Officer/ Machine Operator

About US:

The Electoral Commission of Uganda, also Uganda Electoral Commission, is a constitutionally
established organ of the Government of Uganda, whose mandate is to “organise and conduct regular, free and fair elections” in the country, in an efficient, professional and impartial manner. It was established under Article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates Offset or Digital Printing Machines to produce publications, ballot papers, forms, bulletins, registers Voter Location Slips or other items.
  • Cleans and makes necessary adjustments and minor repairs to equipment.
  • Maintains an inventory of materials or supplies on hand.
  • Performs a variety of tasks in the operation of offset press in several colors and tones, requiring minute adjustments.
  • Any other official duties as may be assigned from time to time




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Diploma in Printing Technologies from a recognized Institution.
  • At least Three (3) years relevant working experience in operating Offset or Digital Printing Machines such as Ryobi, Kodak, OCE or Canon in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization
  • Basic knowledge of electrical & mechanical work and able to do quick fixes of fuses, relays, conveyor belts, drive motors etc
  • Able bodied with the ability to repeatedly carry at least 20 kgs;
  • Hands on experience in printing technologies,
  • Ability to conduct risk assessment, diagnostics, safety precautions;
  • High level of personal initiative, integrity and responsibility.
  • Age: Between twenty one (21) years and fifty (50) years.
