Job Title: Public Relations Officer (2 Job Vacancies)

Organisation: National Housing and Construction Company Limited (NHCC)

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

 

About US:

National Housing and Construction Company Limited (NHCC) was founded in 1964 and is a Ugandan construction and real estate management company, partly owned by the Uganda Government. The Company’s mandate is to increase the housing stock in the country, rehabilitate the housing industry and encourage Ugandans to own homes in an organized environment.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement both strategic and operational plans for the Public Relations Section.
  • Participate in the business planning, budgeting and review process.
  • Prepare and implement public relations plans and programmes which meet and promote the corporate image and brand.
  • Seek to impact and influence key stakeholders, such as Government, clients and customers, the Housing Industry, as well as the public in general, so that they are positively disposed towards the Company.
  • Build and manage a positive image of NHCCL both locally & internationally
  • Establishing and maintaining positive media relations through press conferences, articles, press releases, radio and TV programme.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with NHCCL’s clientele and the general public
  • Carry out protocol functions.
  • Oversee NHCCL’s participation at National events, gathering, processing & dissemination of Company Information.
  • Research, through reading widely, to access information that is relevant to the Company and disseminate it to staff, media and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee and supervise the production of Corporate Publications and documentaries.
  • Oversee the gathering, processing and dissemination of information about the Company and the Housing Industry, as deemed appropriate.
  • Organize Corporate Conferences and Meetings.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a closely related filed from a recognized University/Institution
  • Additional specialized in Public Relations, from a recognized institution, is a must.
  • At least six years of experience, three of which must be as a Public Relations Manager, or in a similar position,
