About US:
Uganda Security Printing Company was formulated as a joint venture between the government of Uganda and a Germany Consortium Veridos.
Uganda Security Printing Company (USPC) runs the Uganda Driver Licensing System (UDLS) project. The project by the Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT) is to license drivers and improve safety on the country’s roads. It produces and issues secure, world-class computerised driving licences.
Job Summary: The Office Assistant is responsible for managing general office duties to ensure project processes run smoothly.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs clerical duties, including, but not limited to, mailing and filing correspondences
- Coordinate with various departments and reserve meeting room and equipment for customer visits and staff meetings.
- Manage refreshments for senior leadership and for meetings
- Photocopy, scan, and file appropriate documents
- Organize the facility and assist managers as requested to ensure smooth operational support
- Assist with organising events when necessary
- Manage filling system
- Sign for delivered packages and distributes them to the appropriate recipient
- Cover for the reception Officers upon request
- Maintain stock of supplies by anticipating work requirements, ordering supplies, and distributing supplies where necessary
- Perform receptionist duties when needed
- Perform additional duties when required
- Ensure neat and clean office area
- Provide administrative support to management as requested
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Office Assistant job should hold an Ordinary level certificate or equivalent qualification
- Self-Driven
- Excellent Customer Care Skills
- Ability to write clearly and help with word processing when necessary.
- Warm personality with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work well under limited supervision
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
- Ability to work flexible hours.
Desirable: Familiarity with phone systems
