Job Summary:  The Principal Officer, Bancassurance will lead all aspects of the Bancassurance Business including but not limited to Business Growth, Revenue Assurance; Management of underwriter relationships, Operations, Service; Trainings and ensuring Profitability in line with the Bank’s aspirations.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and monitor progress of the bancassurance strategy with possible reviews from time to time
  • Spearhead product development and innovation of bancassurance products in line with market expectations
  • Drive the sale of bancassurance products across all bank segments
  • Grow revenues from the bancassurance business
  • Manage relations with partner insurance companies and other stakeholders
  • Represent the Bank at bancassurance conferences, business meetings and industry events
  • Drive the compliance agenda whilst executing bancassurance duties in line with the Insurance (Bancassurance) Regulations, 2017
  • Prepare and submit to the Insurance Regulatory Authority and the Bank’s management, monthly and annual reports on the performance of the bancassurance business
  • Render the necessary assistance to the policyholders or claimants or beneficiaries in complying with the requirements for settlement of claims by the insurer
  • Follow up and respond to any client complaints and enquiries or claims lodged.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in business and a diploma in insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute of the United Kingdom or a similar institute. Marketing and Sales qualifications would be an advantage.
  • A minimum of four years of working experience in insurance in the areas of business development, underwriting, claims, finance or regulation.
  • Ability to identify business opportunities from market intelligence
  • Ability to analyze business opportunities and make value-adding recommendations
  • Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • A leader and able to build credibility and trust
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills
  • A team player and enthusiastic.
