Job Title:   Distribution Assistant (No Experience Jobs)

Duty Station:  Uganda

Reports to: Final Distribution Point Team Leader

 

About US:

CESVI is an Italian NGO which was founded in 1985 and working in all continents in order to protect the rights and dignity of vulnerable people. CESVI has been operational in Uganda since 2001 and is currently working in partnership among others with the WFP; implementing Livelihood, Food security, COVID19 emergency responses and General Food Assistance programs in the humanitarian context of Palabek settlement, Lamwo district.

 

Job Summary:  The Distribution Assistant will ensure proper and accurate distribution of the food basket by household rations based on household size.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that each household accurately receives the required amount of food commodities by weight as per assigned food rations
  • Ensure optimal adherence to distribution protocols/guidelines in line with COVID19 prevention
  • Carry out adequate mobilization relating to food distribution.
  • Ensure that protection and gender issues are streamlined along the food prepackaging areas.
  • Take an active role in preventing food commodity loses.
  • Work with casual laborers in maintaining cleanliness of the FDP and its surrounding
  • Actively participate in the implementation of cross cutting and Complementary activities to GFA as will be implemented from time to time.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Diploma/certificate in agriculture, Business administration, Education or related field.
  • Ability to speak Luo, Arabic and Kiswahili is desirable
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English
  • Able to work in demanding environment and adaptable to rapidly changing contexts.
