Our client is one of the world’s leading providers of courier services in Uganda. They provide a unique combination of on-demand, time-sensitive, door-to-door services within Uganda. They are in immediate need of a Courier Systems Administrator to be based in Kampala Uganda.
Job Summary: The primary purpose of this role is to manage the courier management systems software, customer relations and company social media platforms.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Management of client/customer relations. Provide outstanding customer service to clients and respond to all customer queries that may arise in a professional and courteous manner. Interacting with customers via the company social media accounts.
- Online tracking of clients’ consignments and providing delivery status of clients parcels. Give clients an insight into the location of their consignments and prevent incidences of delays in deliveries. Ensure clients are availed with electronic proof of deliveries for their shipments.
- Manage online payments. Manage the online courier billing software and provide clients to pay online using internet banking or pay after delivery. Instantly generate receipts upon payment and quickly complete the billing process.
- Dispatch management. Carryout route planning and scheduling of drivers, riders and couriers to carryout timely collection and deliveries and ensure 100% collections and deliveries on a daily basis, avoid non collections and deliveries.
- Reports and analytics. Analyse data to identify bottlenecks and make data driven decisions. Successfully interpret data gathered by the system and ensure the information gathered will enhance new heights in business and great business solutions.
- Implementing and adhering to the company’s standard operating procedures. Reporting any changes required to the Operations Manager or Director to act upon. Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, give guidance for decision making, and streamline internal processes.
- Maintaining network security, identifying potential breaches and ensuring compliance with data handling and processing regulations.
- Responsible for scanning the barcodes and storing the parcel details in the tracking system which includes information related to its received time.
- Management of social media platforms and Increasing brand awareness through the effective use of company social media platforms
- Using media marketing tools to create and maintain the company’s brand
- Analysing the company’s digital marketing plan and social media strategy and identifying strategic weaknesses and making recommendations for improvements.
- Researching social media trends and informing management of changes that are relevant to the company’s marketing activities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor degree in Supply chain, Business, Humanities or related field.
- At least three (03) years of combined Operations and General Management experience ideally served managing a direct Express, Courier, freight forwarding / international courier / delivery or B2B oriented business services depot coupled with hands-on experience working with courier management systems software.
- Dedication to excellence and a strong work ethic
- Good planning, organizing skills, attention to detail and compliance oriented
- Ability to work under pressure and to make sound decisions.
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Highly flexible and adaptable and keen to work in a different cultural and social environment
- Computer literate. Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint preferred.
- Ability in using social media to maintain or build a brand, communicate professionally using social media platforms and skill in using tools that analyze social media platforms
- Good analytical and creative and innovation thinker
- A leader and builder of result oriented multi-functional teams that move quickly and adapt quickly to rapidly evolving business conditions.
