Kiira Motors Corporation or KMC is a State Enterprise in Uganda established to champion the Development of the Domestic Automotive Value Chain for job and wealth creation.

 

Job Summary:  The Senior Accountant is responsible for Performing Financial Accounting oversight and controls, Preparing and or reviewing financial accounting analyses; Budgeting, researching and resolving accounting reconciliations variances; supporting data requests for Corporate and external/internal audits; and any other ad hoc projects to support KMC business operations.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Data Management

  • Establish appropriate accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
  • Develop, implement, modify and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current technologies.
  • Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel and direct their work activities.
  • Appraise, evaluate and inventory Property, Plant and Equipment, recording information such as the property’s description, value, and location.

Analysis and Advice

  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
  • Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
  • Analyze financial transactions and prepare the appropriate financial statements
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs

Compliance:

  • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
  • Support internal and external auditing exercises.
  • Maintain and examine the Financial Management and Accounting for completeness.
  • Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
  • Advise clients in areas such as compensation, employee health care benefits, the design of accounting and data processing systems, and long-range tax and estate plans
  • Represent Kiira Motors Corporation before taxing authorities and provide support during litigation involving financial matters.
  • Prepare Monthly Work Plans and Performance Reports necessary for executing the above duties and responsibilities; and
  • Any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Commerce, Business Administration, Business Studies, Finance, Accounting or related field from a recognized Institution;
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management or any other closely related discipline from a recognized Institution is an Added Advantage
  • Must be a Full Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda
  • General Working Experience of at Least (5) Years; Should have Served as an Accountant or Equivalent for at least Three (3) Years in a Reputable Organization preferably in the Automotive/Manufacturing Industry.
