Mildmay Uganda is an indigenous Christian NGO that offers General and HIV/AIDS medical services also providing technical support for Ministry of Health Systems to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services.
Job Summary: The Case Management Officer will be responsible for assessment and enrollment of vulnerable households, developing case management plans for the households and individual children, developing and distribution of services directory. He/she will follow-up and update the case management files on quarterly basis and participate in capacity building of District Health teams (DHTs), Health facilities, religious and cultural leaders, Civil society organizations (CSOs), pre-primary school leadership, Male champions, Village Health Teams (VHTs) and vulnerable households in Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID)/ Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR). He/she will work with health facilities (Midwives and VHTs) in identification of children born with birth defects for appropriate early interventions including facilitating households/mothers to reach centers of excellence for management and rehabilitation services and creating Demand for rehabilitation services for birth defects and childhood disability.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Diploma in Occupational Therapy. Additional training in a health related field is an added advantage.
- Relevant experience and training in Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID) or Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR)
- Training in Health System Strengthening
- Training in project planning and management is an added advantage
- Registration with the relevant professional body (Allied Health Professional Council)
- At least two years of experience implementing child disability prevention projects
- Ability to ride a motorbike and in possession of a valid riding permit
- Experience in VSLA methodology and asset building for vulnerable households.
- Ability to solve technical problems independently or in teams.
- Should have a good team spirit, positive attitude and cope well under pressure.
- Must be willing to reside in the implementing District
