About US:
Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is a semi-autonomous agency of Government responsible for maintenance, coordination, supervising and monitoring of the National Statistical System to ensure the collection, analysis and dissemination of standardised statistical information. The Bureau is also mandated as the principal official statistics producing agency in the country.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Validate and edit data in Stata and Excel;
- Data Management and Data Analysis;
- Carry out office editing, review and edit the data sets for accuracy
- Test the Tabulation Plan for the Analytical Reports
- Maintain and update workflow record regarding work completed and work pending.
- Compile and submit report;
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) Data Operator job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics and Statistics, Business Statistics, Quantitative Economics and any other related courses
- A credit in Maths and English at O’ Level is a must
- Must be Knowledgeable in the use of STATA, CSPro and advanced Excel
- A minimum speed of 150 key strokes per minute.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision;
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of data management is an added advantage.
- Attention to detail required.
