Job Summary: On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Regulatory Compliance Coordinator to work in Kampala.
Missions / Service Dimensions: The service holder shall be responsible for leading all the processes related to the obtention of licences and permits necessary for the activities of the project. He (She) has to manage to obtain the permits in time without delaying the project activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement the project regulatory compliance for permitting
- Establish a master permit register and maintain it
- Establish for each project activity a detailed permitting master register
- Organize the obtention of the licences and permits needed for the project activities in Uganda
- Liaise with the authorities to present any request for permit
- Coordinate with the other entities of the project and TEPU in order to anticipate the obtention of the permits in time
- Liaise with the contractors and ensure that they obtain the permits under their responsibility in due time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Degree: MSc (or equivalent formal qualification) in Law/Business/Audit
- At least ten years of experience in compliance and permitting role
- Five years of experience in Project execution & Organisation
- Strong knowledge of Ugandan Regulation and Law
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Languages: English as mother tongue or Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
Context & Environment
The EACOP project includes a 1445km 24 in oil export pipeline, 8 above ground facilities, a green field marine terminal with an export jetty and a series of 60 main line block valves and +20 trace heating stations. 150km of feeder lines from Upstream facilities will tie in to the EACOP project. The context is complex with numerous stakeholders, environmental and societal / local content stakes, four partners. The service holder shall take into account this environment in the organization of the activities.
