Overview:
HW21 is a five-year Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)-funded initiative supporting high HIV burden countries to meet 95-95-95 goals by 2030 by building competent and confident health workers and effectively supporting governments to employ, deploy, and retain them. HW21 is closing health workforce gaps to increase access for people living with HIV (PLHIV) to testing, care, treatment and support to ensure sustained viral suppression. In Uganda, HW21 will support HRSA, the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Government of Uganda in this effort by
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordination of Telementoring Initiative Operations
- Lead day to day coordination of telementoring initiative, including start up activities and trainings.
- Work with project manager, hub team, and facility participants to coordinate and collect case studies and didactic presentations.
- Review case studies and didactic presentations to ensure they meet CE and patient de-identification standards.
- Coordinates procurements and IT set up, which may include the logistics for distance delivery.
- Ensure telementoring sessions run smoothly, including IT set up, assisting facilitator, tracking time, monitoring participant questions taking and disseminating notes and action items.
- Lead continuous quality improvement with Program Manager, including following up on identified issues, modifying session format, etc.
- Relationship Management
- Maintain excellent relationships with central hub team and spoke participants, serving as main point of contact.
- Provide administrative and operational support for Hub team and Spoke participants, and act as liaison between hub and linked health facilities.
- Facilitates and enhances day-to-day operating relations with site coordinators and other stakeholders, as appropriate to the position
- Manage spoke list-serv and communication with spoke, troubleshooting questions and sending email reminders.
Data and Knowledge Management
- Administer and collate in session surveys for participant feedback
- Enter monitoring data into platform following each session.
- Maintain internal website, ensuring all relevant documents are filed
- Ensure necessary participant data collected and submitted for CME.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Project Management or related field.
- At least five years of experience implementing donor-funded projects.
- Familiarity with virtual communication platforms and IT.
- Demonstrated understanding of Uganda’s healthcare system, experience living and working in Uganda preferred.
- Familiarity with USG administrative, management and reporting procedures and systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with geographically dispersed groups.
- Excellent written, presentation, communication and organizational skills in English.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
