Numida is a rapidly growing digital microfinance institution (MFI) in East Africa focused on serving Micro-and Small Businesses (MSBs). Thanks to our proprietary technology and credit processes, we provide growth and working capital to verified MSBs, resulting in high portfolio yields and a high impact on our borrowers’ livelihoods.

Through the Numida mobile app, small business owners apply for convenient and unsecured, short-term business loans by digitally submitting evidence of business ownership and activity. Our proprietary due diligence process, combining machine validation and human review, allows a first lending decision to be made in less than 72 hours and disbursed digitally via mobile money.

Traditionally overlooked and underserved Micro and Small Businesses (MSBs) in emerging markets deserve to have great tech built to serve their needs. Numida is the first and largest mobile platform in East Africa focused on offering convenient, accessible, and appropriate financial services specifically to MSBs. Job Summary:  We are looking for an ambitious Junior Product Analyst to drive forward our product development through user testing and market research. The Junior Product Analyst will work directly with Numida’s product team to collect feedback on new product design from our clients and or potential clients. This role requires strong execution skills, the ability to think critically about user interface design and a long-term interest in product development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help in any capacity needed to test out new and or existing products that Numida is or has developed.
• Help guide Numida’s future product development to maximize ease of use for our clients with your product insights and ideas gleaned from the field.
• Synthesize feedback from existing clients to help prioritize which features we build next.
• Methodically use qualitative and quantitative observations to build better products.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Skills & qualifications:

• Prior experience running field surveys.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly build trust and rapport with interview subjects.
• Strong observation skills and ability to think critically about root causes of confusion when observing user behavior.
• Interest in a future career in design or product development
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Past design experience is a plus.
