On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced General Services Technical Officer to work in Kampala.

 

Job Summary:  The General Service Section (GS) is urgently seeking for the skills of a temporary resource to spearhead the operation of moving the expatriates who are currently residing in a temporary setting to the selected accommodation. The scope of works of the General Services Technical Officer shall include daily supervision of the properties to ensure completion and readiness within the agreed timeline, supervising compliance to the agreed terms as per the scope of work, assessing the implementation of the H3SE audits recommendations, coordination of the shifting of expatriates ‘s personal effects from the temporary housing to the permanent location.

 

The duration of the temporary services shall be three months.

 

Justification

Scope: Provisions of competent and professional temporary services to ensure that (a) all expected facilities and amenities are in place and fully functional and (b) expatriates are moved to the permanent housing in a timely manner

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

These will include:

  • Setting timeline within which the apartments will be ready and ensuring that the deadlines are met
  • Assessing the organization structures of the properties in terms of housekeeping and maintenance services
  • Assessing the personnel recruitment process to determine readiness of the properties
  • Assessing the quality of the furniture to be provided to ensure that it is identical to the setup shown to the company in the showroom apartment
  • Ensuring uniformity of services in all apartments and properties
  • Assessing the electricals installations and safety measures as per recommendation of the H3SE audits and have a third-party audit if need be
  • Establishment on when the facilities such as the restaurant, health clubs, playground will be ready and functional
  • Provision of daily reports on the progress and occupation date
  • Assessing the provision plans of the of sanitary (disinfectant) items especially in common areas
  • Ensuring provision of materials regarding the property’s services, facilities, and key contacts in case of query
  • Set up a query log system for any request for services which tracks response timeline
  • Supervise the transfer of expatriates’ s personnel effects from the current residential are to the permanent housing through a moving company (AGS)

H3SE Requirements :

The General Services Technical Officer shall:

  • Ensure that the properties abide by all company safety regulations.
  • Implement the recommendation of the H3SE audits.
  • Request for a third-party electrical audit and implement any recommendation that might be identified

 

Expected output:

  • Inventory report for both company and Apartment assigned to expatriates.
  • H3SE Audit Checklist and action plan.
  • Review and recommend Organization structure of the apartments to deliver the expected level of service for housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Status and update of the readiness of the apartment amenities (pools, gym, children play area etc.)
  • Utilities management (water, electricity) system for apartment.
  • Query log system for maintenance.
  • Tenancy booklets




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering/ construction management or any technical degree.
  • Proven experience in related roles
