Job Summary: The Manager, MIS & Portfolio Analysis will provide strategic business research and analysis for Stanbic Uganda Credit by keeping abreast of global industry trends and risk management requirements by analysing trends, tracing changes, reporting and implementing refined strategies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interprets, evaluates and interrelates research data and develops integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making
- Establish accurate business case scenarios.
- Prepare basis for executive decision-making by means of running scenarios and proposing alternative recommendations, including an overview of pros and cons of each scenario / recommendation.
- High degree of proactive solution providing skills is required in matching user needs in respect to being Able to deliver in terms of system, cost and business strategy.
- Identify, highlight and deliver untapped opportunities.
- Provides consultative and technical support as appropriate to strategic decision-making committees
- Manage the design, collation, production, interpretation and dissemination of Business Risk reports incorporating industry data, macro economic information, geographical data and other demographic views
- Providing input to Exco reports, Business Unit Management (BUM) packs and other regular report packs.
- Development and maintenance of financial models to provide deeper insights into the portfolio and budgeting processes
- Analysis and reporting should provide portfolio insights and inform strategic decision making.
- Input into the system design and architecture requirements as they relate to debtors processing, account management and MIS provision
- Collections, Recovery and Event strategies
- Complete and agree accurate problem descriptions and complete analysis definitions.
- Complete and present accurate analysis results and robust recommendations.
- Establish and agree workable business solutions (including business models and operating frameworks).
- The compilation of an origination policy and execution thereof
- Channel strategy
- Loan limit strategy
- Authorisation/Pay-No Pay strategies
- Credit Limit strategies
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must have at least three years experience as a Portfolio Analyst or related data analytical role
- Computer literacy (Microsoft packages)
- Business related degree (minimum requirement)
- Good knowledge of the Bank’s internal processes with regard to non-performing loan recovery process and credit processes
- Knowledge and understanding of macro-economic indicators and financial and risk management
- Knowledge of retail and commercial environment will be preferable
- Good general knowledge of Ugandan affairs
- Reflects and understanding of and the ability to apply basic financial concepts in developing management information
- Model development
- Must be comfortable in starting with a “blank sheet of paper”
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Good interpersonal skills and responsiveness to business needs
- Good analytical skills Team Player and team orientated.
