About US:
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services for people with disability in Uganda (CoRSU) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, nongovernmental organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission). CoRSU provides Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children as well as adults with disability.
Job Summary: The Internal Auditor is expected to develop annual audit plans using a risk based approach to ensure that audit resources are allocated to high risk areas. He/she will monitor the risk register and offer an audit approach which provides management with reasonable assurance that the risks are mitigated.
The job holder shall audit the internal processes and procedures in compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on Auditing; Institute of Internal Auditors (IAA) Uganda for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing; the International Standards on Auditing – European Union for CBM Funding and CoRSU ensuring that internal policies and procedures are up-to-date.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Chartered Accountant fully qualified with CA, CIA, CPA, ACCA, or other recognized accounting/auditing qualification;
- At least three years post qualification internal audit experience in a recognized organization or working with public accounting firm
- Good experience with financial audit documentation and/or reporting.
- Demonstrated success working with and engaging entities in the health sector.
- Experience in risk-based internal audit with strong knowledge and understanding of governance practices, related Ethics and Compliance issues.
- A committed independent person, able to stand above denominational diversities.
- Experience of working in a private not for profit and/or non- governmental/local organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk management practices and principles.
- Strong writing, analytical and presentation skills.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain strong interpersonal relationships and working in a team.
- Good computer knowledge and skills especially in analysing financial information using MS Excel, Filemaker and Tally databases.
