The Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) is an indigenous medical organization that was established in 1991 as a limited liability not-for-profit Joint-venture between the Uganda Ministry of Health (MoH), Ministry of Defense and Makerere University Medical School (now Makerere College of Health Sciences).
Job Summary: The Accounts Assistant / Chief Cashier is responsible for processing of payments, deposit money in the bank and receive money from the bank.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write vouchers for all bank accounts.
- Write cheques for all bank accounts.
- Prepare vendor invoices in Navision System.
- Tracker invoices and payments for utilities every month.
- Tracker and reconcile prepayments to various vendors every month.
- Reconcile staff advances every month.
- Enter and analyze all petty-cash expenditure in NAVISION.
- Make deposits and withdraws on behalf of JCRC.
- Type cheque payment confirmations, Telegraphic Transfers, and Letters of Credit.
- Prepare project budget vs expenditure Participate in both internal and external audit processes.
- Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a degree in Accounting or Business related with a bias in accounts
- At least two years of progressive and professional accounting experience.
- Knowledge of accounting software packages.
- Should have good interpersonal and communication skills and a team player.
