On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Cost Controller to work in Kampala.

Job summary: Cost control activities for the Uganda non-project technical part (Land & Social, Human resources, General  & Administrative).

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

Primary responsibilities:

Administration:

• Participate in EACOP’s budget preparation with Budget holders in UG, TZ, UK
• Release Purchase Requisitions / Purchase Orders after appropriate checks
• Review invoices cost allocation
• Prepare accruals & cost drivers and cost objects review for the monthly accounting closures
• Ensure quality budget/performance monitoring and reporting:
• Review monthly activity reports to allow effective cost allocations
• Prepare monthly cost control reports (date & comments) for Budget holders and management
• Identify opportunities to improve budget control with Budget holders
• Coordinate evolution of Cost structure
• Assist Budget holders on all financial and cost control issues
• Assist the Head of Cost Control during external audits (statutory and financial, fiscal, shareholders, national authorities)
• Participate in the implementation of EACOP’s new ERP

Context and environment:

• Shareholders Agreement completion by year-end 2021
• Transition from TEAM BV to EACOP Ltd at SHA completion
• Implementation of a brand-new dedicated ERP for EACOP Ltd (Finance and HR)

Accountabilities:

• Accurate, reliable and on time cost control monitoring
• Respect of budget figures

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor in Accounting, Finance or Business administration – ACCA Level 3 Experience:
• At least five years’ experience in cost control, ideally in Oil & Gas and with accounting exposure
• Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP, Microsoft Office Suite Abilities:
• Strong technical skills in cost control, analytical mind, focus on processes, attention for details.
• Adequate interpersonal and communication skills; team spirit; ability to cope with pressure and deadlines.
• Excellent level in English (spoken & written)
