Job Summary: The operations assistant will be responsible for managing cash recovery from our agent network as we rapidly scale our business in Uganda. In this role, you’ll: Seek to understand all our cash movements in Uganda. Execute approved instructions and money movements with integrity and in a timely manner.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review the daily money movement schedule for the day and ensure approved tasks and priorities are taken care of.
- Work with our partner banks to ensure that cash availed to our CIT partners in time
- Send daily money movement reconciliations as per assigned tasks
- Ensure secure, efficient, and timely delivery of all cash-in-transit as per assigned tasks to the partner
- Coordinate the collection of cash to be deposited in the adequate bank accounts by agents or super agents for next day usage
- Manage cash dispatch to the premium agents as may be approved by your line manager
- Maintain excellent relationships between the company and our partner banks
- Immediately report to the line manager any changes or variances taking place in the way that a job is normally handled
- Execute all operations seamlessly in strict compliance to the internal approved process
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance or Management related course
- Proficient in English and other local languages
- At least four years relevant experience in treasury or operations
- Uphold integrity at all times
- Are intellectually curious, creative in the way you go about tackling problems, and embrace failure as a means to spark innovation and growth
- Demonstrate tenacity and a willingness to go the distance to get something done
- Are comfortable defaulting to over-communication and overreaching when it comes to urgent troubleshooting needs
- Adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions and cope effectively with complexity and change
- Are analytical in your approach to problems (Very important!)
- Are excessively detail-oriented and seek to achieve excellence in everything you do
- Moves swiftly and executes tasks timely.
- Have worked at a financial institution (bank, money transfer service or micro-finance, mobile money) at a supervisor level
