Job Summary: The IT Operations Associate (Digital Assistance Services) will be responsible for the daily coordination of the technical implementation and operations of the Digital Assistance Services (DAS) in accordance with the technical guidelines and involvement of all relevant stakeholders across the Area Office and the Country Office Technical team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Map the existing data infrastructures, data sources, data flows, and preparing raw data from these multiple sources for analysis and Business Intelligence dashboard.
- Coordinate the technical implementation and operations of all DAS in the area office, ensuring involvement of all relevant stakeholders as required.
- Engage with CO colleagues to support in identifying requirements and the operational design, budgeting, planning and deployment of technology solutions and systems to support DAS in their AOs, particularly with respect to cash-based transfers.
- Capture, document and analyze (i.e., through diagrams, flowcharts, data models, user experience designs, storyboards) AO business requirements for DAS and either identifying workable existing solutions or escalating to CO and following up for potential consideration.
- Test and analyze digital solutions and document the match against business requirements for quality and accuracy.
- Support appropriate IT assessments to assist informed DAS-related operational decision making.
- Identifying learning needs and supporting capacity building initiatives for DAS and new related functionalities, aimed at building solid digital assistance expertise amongst colleagues and partners for the use of WFP’s DAS.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) IT Operations Associate (Digital Assistance Services) job should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields
- Three years of experience in data analysis, data product/solution development, technology-focused teams.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or HTML5.
- Experience working with teams and team processes
- Database design and management using leading DB tools (Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.), front-end analytics tools (SAP BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Strong writing skills and ability to deliver presentations to multiple stakeholder groups in clear and concise business language. Showcase strong problem solving, analytical, and client-facing skills.
- Familiarity with WFP’s SCOPE platform or CBT implementation would be desirable.
- Language: Fluency (level C) in the English language.
Competencies:
- Governance, Strategy and Architecture: Demonstrates awareness of overall IT governance structure and system architecture development to support the process and assist in design of interaction between systems.
- Change Implementation, Project management, Planning and Optimization: Has basic understanding of project management principles to provide basic estimates on timing, resource utilisation and costs to facilitate the project planning process.
- Technical Expertise: Continuously updates one’s own knowledge about new technologies and product modifications; Is sought out for advice/expertise and recognized internally as an important technical reference.
- Service Management: Monitors and supervises maintenance and installation work against the established standards and protocols for service excellence and takes proper actions to correct inconsistencies and improve overall quality and customer satisfaction. Ensures that operational problems are identified and resolved.
- Client Management: Exhibits a detailed understanding of customers’ IT requests in order to effectively address and manage internal customers ‘needs. Identifies recurrent issues to propose long-term solutions.
- Procurement and Contract Management: Able to conduct a cost-benefit analysis of alternative technologies and vendor service level agreements to consolidate options and assess suitability.
