Masaka Diocesan Medical Services Ltd is a registered company limited by guarantee and not having share capital. The Company has undertaken to be the Distributer of JMS in the Greater Masaka region, involved in storage and sale of products, including pharmaceuticals, medical and surgical sundries, equipment and instrument as well as laboratory supplies. Therefore MDMSL distributes pharmaceutical supplies exclusively from JMS assured of their quality, safety and availability at all times to her consumers. MDMSL supplies these products to Government health facilities, PNFPs, Private for Profit health facilities, NGOs and well as pharmacies and drug shops within Greater Masaka.
Job Summary: The Human Resource Officer will ensure that the Project has the right human resources that can help in achieving the project goals and objectives in an appropriate and timely manner. S/he will support the management of staff entry, management of their stay and exit using performance management tools
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the orderly operation of the Human Resource section including adherence to the Human resource and all other MDMS policies and procedures.
- Providing advice to management on HR issues and staff updating, disseminating and interpreting Human Resource policies and procedures.
- Managing the recruitment, interviewing, hiring and other reference checks or human resources databases and filing systems.
- Overseeing the performance of all staff in the Project, involving staff performance planning, performance monitoring and evaluation. S/he will help staff come out with performance plans, performance monitoring plans, performance improvement plans and a robust appraisal system.
- Support management to harmonize staff recruitment plans and set salary scales in the budgets.
- Making certain that the methods, systems, and frequency of communication among staff members are sufficient to guarantee that work tasks are completed with a high level of quality, and a minimum of confusion and stress.
- Ensuring that Management creates and maintains a climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates employees and volunteers, including and not limited to rewards and sanctions
- Advise management on staff establishment and development
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- At least Bachelor’s degree in Management majoring in Human resource management
- A post graduate diploma in human resource management is an added advantage
- Three years of experience in managing human resources at a credible organization.
