Job Title: Accounts Assistant (Fresher Job Vacancies)

About US:
Uganda Christian University (UCU) is an authentic Christian institution established by the Church of Uganda in 1997 in response to a call for quality university education with a Christian perspective. Uganda Christian University replaced the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College which trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support to Accountants
- Clerical tasks such as recording, data entry, filing
- Support with business accounting activities
- Handling emails and inquiries
- Processing and recording transactions
- Basic book keeping
- Analyzing and ensuring accuracy of finance requests and records
- Any other official duties that may assign from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant degree
- Evidence that ACCA or CIMA studies are underway
- A minimum of two years’ work experience as an Accounts Assistant
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately
- Competent IT skills, particularly proficiency with SAP
- High level of accuracy; a mature and practicing Christian who upholds the University’s Core values and Instruments of Identity
