About US:

Sole Hope is a team of approximately 55 Ugandans and a handful of Americans working to bring hope and healing to people suffering from jiggers. Sole Hope employs about 25 full-time Ugandan men and women to handcraft our shoes!  We are currently making about 11,000 pairs of shoes per year. Closed-toed shoes help prevent jigger infestation for people that wear them.  They protect feet in harsh conditions and a source of pride for people that own them.  Our shoes are handcrafted in Uganda, but they start their journey with you! You can use your hands and your old jeans bring new life to vulnerable people in Uganda.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Safely transporting patients, staff, visitors as well as various products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
  • Driving and maintenance of company vehicles
  • Keeping the company vehicles clean and promptly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning, and vehicle maintenance
  • Maintaining accurate records of the vehicles (log books, travel records, third party records etc.)
  • Reporting any accidents, injuries, traffic tickets and vehicle damage to management





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Uganda Certificate of Education O’ Level
  • One to five years of driving experience in a medium sized company
  • Defensive driving experience for risk management
  • Basic skills in vehicle mechanics is desirable
  • Knowledge of Ugandan Traffic Laws and Regulations
  • Effective verbal, presentation and listening communication skills
  • Computer knowledge and Report writing skills
