Job Summary: The Finance Manager will be responsible for working with senior management to develop financial strategies for the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs, implements, and monitors systems and procedures to maintain accurate up-to-date forecasts of cash requirements for meeting future spending, including commitments entered into and which obligate EP to future spending.
- Supports the Program Manager (PM) liaising with Projects and partners in the process of budget reviews, analysis and use of standardized templates.
- Oversees the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure successful audit and enforce internal controls & compliance.
- Maintain and ensure a healthy relationship with the authorities URA, NSSF, ERA etc.
- Prepare the consolidated balance sheet; income statements and notes to the financial statements. Prepare internal and external monthly reports.
- Support the Program Manager liaising with Projects and partners in the process of budget reviews, analysis and use of standardized templates as assist in responding to inquiries from partners.
- Documents and maintains complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions, well organized physical and electronic archive of financial documentation.
- Other duties assigned by Line or Department Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance. A Master’s degree in these areas is a plus.
- Certified accountant (CFA, ACCA, CPA, or chartered accountancy)
- At least three years of extensive experience in financial management, co-ordination and budget preparation and control.
- Must be fluent in English, both written and oral, French is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications: MS Excel, MS Word,
- QuickBooks (or similar) is required.
- Ability to make business projections three years into the future
- Financial management and audit experience are a plus.
- Must be an enthusiastic team builder, who works successfully in a multicultural environment.
