Manufacturing & Construction

Director Policy and Business Development.

 

About US:

Private Sector
Foundation Uganda (PSFU) is a membership-based organization with members
structured in to the 11 sectors that mirror the economy. PSFU moved to use a
sectoral approach as the vehicle to drive member benefits in such a way that
ensures that the members are satisfied.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Under the supervision of the Director Private
Sector Development Sector coordinator will among other assignments;

·       Conduct extensive research activities,
in-depth study and analysis of information, reports, interviews and
consultations to inform policy direction for the sector.

·       Be the main contact point for the sector and
link to PSFU secretariat.

·       Coordinate activities which ensure policy
issues/ concerns affecting the sector are collated, processed and dialogued
with respective public body.

·       Coordinate activities that increase
productivity, efficiency, profitability and growth of members through business
development services, business linkages and synergies.

·       Develop project proposals to mobilize
resources that serve the interests of the members in the sectors.

·       Coordinate activities relating to member
satisfaction through member needs assessment.

·       Support the membership department in
conducting membership related activities such as recruitment of members, debt
collection and organizing the Annual General Meeting.

·       Ensure the mainstreaming of the cross cutting
issues (gender, youth, environment, and other SDGs) in the production and
placement of products and services to the market.

·       Supervise sector officer(s) in the conduction
of their work to support the sector.

·       Conduct any other activities as will be
assigned to by the Director Policy and Business Development.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal candidate must hold a Master’s
degree in the field of Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Business Management,
International Trade, Public Relations/Communication, Law or any other relevant
field.

·       At least four (4) years in conducting
research to inform policy and business development.

·       Three (3) years’ experience working with
business member organizations in field of policy advocacy, business development
or membership is an added advantage.

·       Demonstrated knowledge of policy analysis,
planning and advocacy.

·       Experience in leading teams, project
management and coordination of activities.

·       Demonstrated motivation to carry out the
above scope of work.
